I am always a little sad to see the old year close ,but always happy to see the beginning of another New Year. I guess each New Year means another year older and I'm still here.
Ceil and I were talking last evening about some of the things that we have witnessed in my 65 years and her 63 years; boy have we come a long way. It is hard to imagine the changes that will take place in each coming year.
Some people talk about the "good old days", well I am here to tell you we like having the "good new days". We love and enjoy so many things, ie. like air-condition, TV, digitial this and that, cars that we don't have to push down the hill to get it started, nice grocery stores that offers everything a person would ever want or need. I could go on forever.
I want to wish each of you the best for the coming year here on Active Rain and look forward to sharing the best of the best information in regard to the real estate market and home inspection news. We all play a very important part in this industry.
Your favorite Hill Country Inspector, Carl and Ceil Winters
Hey Dale - It's a long lasting joke in our neighborhood. We had a VW and honest engine we had to push it every morning to get a running start. Once it got going it was great. Always had to look for a hill to park it on so we could get a good push start. Oh! those were the days. (ha, ha) A car that wouldn't run, no A/C, crank up windows and could run forever on $1.00's worth of gas.
Hey Carl & Ceil! Happy New Year! I may be a little younger than y'all but I remember those good ole days. Gosh, we could take Daddy's car out for the evening riding around town, at the end of the evening put a $1.00's worth of gas in and he'd never know how far we traveled -- unless he looked at the speedometer -- haha -- somehow we never thought of that!!! hahaha
One of my goal's this year is to meet you and Ceil in person. Hope we can meet somewhere for a nice meal and get to know each other in person.
Hello Judi - Glad I got to read your comment. Carl has gone to bed and I'm checking out AR and some webstes. Now that I'm not working anymore I am going to help Carl. I hope also that we can meet sometime. Seems with business, children and grandchildren we are alwalys pressed for time. I think I got more accomplished when I worked. Hopefully things will settle down soon. Carl is already booked for the rest of the week and into next week and was busy in December. Seems like everyone wants an inspection right away. Thank you lord.
Hope you had a nice holiday. Anxious to hear about your trip to see your daughter. Don't remember where you said you were going. Hope things are going well over at your new firm. Maybe one day when I go to Sam's I'll stop by and may be lucky to catch you.
I don't think Carl has been bloggng as much, has been down in his back. Hopefully he will get over this or will have to go to the doc.
Ceil, I love to hear that Carl is staying busy and booked up that far into next week! That shows that real estate in San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country is alive and well! :) Great article on Real Estate in our area in today's paper (San Antonio Express News). Saying just what I've been saying all along. We're still selling property both commercial and residential here in this area of the state.
We did have a nice holiday. Christmas was nice and we had a great time at a New Year's Eve Party last night. We went to New Jersey over Thanksgiving.
Hate to hear that Carl has been down in his back. Hope it'll get better soon. How's the Cedar Fever? I've got a few symptoms but it hasn't hit me too bad yet. I'm sure it will though. Thought for sure with the cold front blowing in last night from up north, I'd be really suffering today.
When you plan your trip to Sam's, just give me a call. We'll meet at a restaurant close by and have a little lunch and visit. My office isn't far from Sam's -- EZ's is right there at 281 & Bitters we can meet there or we can go to El Jarro's in the same center for a good Mexican lunch. They have a great luncheon buffet.
