be safe Cinco de Mayo... enjoy it and be responsible!

Well as I mentioned a couple weeks ago (feels like 2 days ago) Cinco de Mayo would be here before we knew it and here we are.

Tomorrow (some are starting tonight) is the Cinco de Mayo celebration for Freedom.

Have fun and enjoy yourselves, family and friends if you are going out to celebrate.

On a serious note however if you are PLEASE do so responsibly! One bad night could end someones life and change others forever. its not worth it so celebrate in control or choose from one of these options...

Hire a driver

Call a cab

Take a designated driver

stop after 1-2 (depending on tolerance and weight)

finish your celebration at home where you are safe and sound.

We have all been in bad situations and I know too may who went from young or old professional to incarcerated convicted felon. A family and a life changed forever dont let this be you are anyone you know.

Enjoy your Cinco de Mayo but do so responsibly!

Indeed in it's party time in a lot of places and especially in Albuquerque! The celebrations began today and will run through Sunday night. We will head to Santa Fe in the morning for a Rain meet up then head back to the Q to hit up the festivities in Old Town. Cops are going to be out in full force, free cab rides are available and we all should use common sense. You drink, You drive, You loose!

Thanks for the Safety Reminder, David.

Unless you live within walking distance of a restaurant, bar, or tavern (most Americans do not), then TAKE the taxi or the public transit to your destination.

Put the phone numbers of a couple of Taxi companies on "speed dial" on your phone. Keep enough cash in your back pocket to pay for the Taxi ride home (or call the Tipsy Taxi or one of the Free Services that are offered on such nights).

Sure, Taxi rides are not cheap - but they are a lot cheaper than $5000+ defending yourself against a DUI charge - or worse, if you hit something or someone.
