Plenty to eat in the high grass.

deer in field eating grass

The late season rains have kept the grasses and vegetation tall and green for the deer in Greenstone Country. Sure, the weather has helped many of the animals here in Placerville, CA but I was able to shoot the deer as I drove past him tonight.

Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Tom, the deer seems quite calm and not bothered by you or the house in the photo, house trained too I wonder?

I love deer.  I think they are so pretty and graceful.  We have a lot of them here.

To a Virginian, your use of the word shoot has an interesting meaning.  Foreign really.  Is it deer season?

Love catching a deer in the wild.. although once they eat all your roses you tend to look at them more in the way of cuts of meat than furry animals... lol

It was taken in a community that is friendly to all wildlife. Deer, turkey, fox, and more are not too frightened by man Rene.

Thanks Gabrielle, that is refreshing to hear.

Fernando, he saw me coming long before I saw him. If they aren't watching you, they are probably running from you.
