Happy Cinco de Mayo 2012!
Today is the day that we celebrate all things Mexican, May 5th! Mariachi bands, sombrerors, dancing, the clothing, the beautiful Mexican blankets, the food and let's not forget the frosty Margarita or siestas!
John McCormack who is close to the festivities in Albuquerque has been keeping us aware of all things Cinco de Mayo this week and building the excitement.
Today will be a day of celebration and paradesand many people will be celebrating whether they are Mexican or not. We are not from or in Puebla and we understand that there is more celebrations north of the Mexican border than south, but it is May 5th, and that means it is Happy Cinco de Mayo day!
Happy Cinco de Mayo 2012!
Hi Al & Peggy, happy Cinco de Mayo to you as well, the one day we all have a little Hispanic blood or at least margarita in our bloodstream. lol
Happy Cinco de Mayo 2012 Al and Peggy! Thank you for the mention.
Yep the parties began yesterday and will run through Sunday night. Albuquerque is a buzz with Cinco de Mayo celebrations just about around the clock! It's a huge deal then again we are in New Mexico :)
Debbie and I are heading to Santa Fe for a mini Rain meet up brunch then back to Albuquerque to enjoy the Cinco party in Old Town and hope to shoot the Super Moon Rise at 9:35 tonight. It's a full day but wanted to drop by and wish you both an awesome weekend.
John
We have the added bonus of it being our anniversary. So no excuses and this evening will find us on the waterfront at a fabulous Mexican restaurant.
Somehow I think that Cinco de Mayo has lost it's meaning over the last few years.
Al and Peggy,
And Happy Cinco de Mayo to my friends up North. This is certainly a holiday we can all enjoy.
Rich
Al & Peggy, I usually look forward to Cinco de Mayo and this year is no different, but because of work and the time I had to visit my local favorite Mexican Restaurant...well let's just say I couldn't get near the place...way too many celebrants ahead of me.
Al/Peggy: Lots of events around the country today in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. We celebrated last night to avoid the crowds. ;-)
You have been watching our blood cells Bob!! Yes, they are lime green!!
Sounds like a great way to spent a gorgeous May 5th John! All the best to you and Debbie.

Wow, we guess because May 5th fell on a Saturday this year!
Smart thinking Anita, just like an early bird.
Al and Peggy I knew that that Cinco de Mayo was popular here in the US, but I did not realize that it is celebrated by more people here than in Mexico.
Oh darn, I missed it this year Al and Peggy, it must have been because of all that hoopla surrounding the super moon. Is it too late to have a couple of margaritas?
My family and I celebrate Cinco de Mayo almost every Friday night as we dine at Los Panchitos. The little latina in me loves it!!
Al & Peggy, i'm late in cinco de mayo i was in Santa Fe NM with the McCormacks & Em Medvec & Joan Cox for this event...it was great hope you enjoyed it.
