There is little argument that developments in science and technology lead to the creation of higher paying jobs.

Arizona State University's Morrison Institute for Public Policy, released a study that stated that Arizona tax payers are willing to pay higher taxes in order to support or attract science and/or technology developments.

So far, it appears that Tempe is positioned to benefit the most from such investment.  The Biodesign Institute, located in Tempe has attracted renowned scientists and created several hundred high paying lab technician jobs.

Tempe is also home to ASU's Flexible Display Center, Google, Monster.com, GoDaddy, plus the ASU Tempe campus has countless other programs that are attractive to high-paying employers.

According to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, nearly 11,000 people work in "high technology" jobs in Tempe.

If there truly is a correlation between science and job creation, it should be easiest to find it in Tempe.
