Now that life has issued the motivation to buy home. What's next? Well, the answer could vary. Most importantly by which profession is asked. What generally happens is, professionals tend to align themselves with others they trust to get the job done. For example you speak with a real estate agent first, they will suggest lenders with whom they have had a successful working relationship, and vice versa with lenders.
Below I have suggested what experience as a Realtor® tells me are the 10 steps to the home buying process. While lenders may question the order of steps 2 and 3, I'm certain we'd agree on the rest.
Our 10 Steps are:
•1. Review your financial situation
•2. Choose a Coordinator (Realtor®)
•3. Decide on a Lender
•4. Go Shopping (Selecting a Home)
•5. Complete the Mortgage Application
•6. Have the Home Inspected
•7. Negotiate the Results of your Inspections
•8. Order Title Insurance and Local Certifications (if necessary)
•9. Obtain Fire (Home Owners) Insurance
•10. Get Your Keys (Going to Settlement)
I will be reviewing these 10 steps with an aim to give you a better understanding of the home buying process.
