Squidoo for Agents - Do you Squidoo?

Using off site strategies to build links:

Using other sites to link back to you is nothing new, asking for a link used to be the norm, but more and more sites are built to let you share your little piece of info about the world.

Use these sites to your advantage, within the terms of their agreements, create new pages and profiles about you, your area, your services or something that you excel in and can provide knowledge on.

Notice the cool page we created to both boost the SEO value of our clients site, but also to showcase some features of the community. (ok, it's mostly to grab some free keywords and anchor text).

I was a big fan of Squidoo until Google slapped them with a filter. I'm not saying it still can't be useful, but it's not like it was few months back. Check this blog where they show analytics data for various lenses : http://www.earnersblog.com/squidoo-traffic-down/

Squidoo is on my radar for sometime in the first quarter. Right now I'm reading a lot from Seth Godin and browsing some of the other top lenses to understand the possibilities.

Kent: Each is a different community with a different IP that allow you to create content on them.

The only danger in creating accounts and pages on both is EXACT duplication (don't put the same exact thing in both places, treat them as separate places with complimenting info, make sure you link between them and add to both of their value that way also.

This also answers Konnie also.

Basically the whole game in placing well in the search engines is getting lots of links in to your site.

Squidoo is just one of many places where you don't have to ask someone to give you a link, it's your own page, you can create a link to your site .. but it's off site .. on a well ranked site .. so it counts to help your page ranking in the search engines.
