If you are relocating to Camp Lejeune Marine base in Jacksonville, North Carolina, I want to welcome you and assist you in learning more about the area, schools, housing, jobs opportunities and any other questions you may have.

Onslow County has many small towns and communities convenient to Camp Lejeune. Each has its own charm and advantages with housing of all types ranging from manufactured homes, condos, apartments and single family homes. The price range is broad depending on location, whether on or near a body of water, amenities, etc.

Jacksonville is the largest city in Onslow County with housing in all price ranges. This is where the larger shopping    centers, air port and county offices are located. The parks and recreation department is very active and provides many activities and programs for all county residents. There are many subdivisions and communities with something for everyone’s budget and taste.

Hubert is a small community located approximately 12-15 minutes from the back gate to Lejene that has become a very popular residential area for military families. It is convenient to the base and Jacksonville but is a quieter and  more remote area. The school district is perhaps the most sought after in the county. Hubert is considered an extension of Swansboro where the shopping and restaurants are a delight. There are several waterfront subdivisions which provide water related activities. The prices of the homes range from very moderate to high end.

Swansboro is a quaint, historic town located on the White Oak River. The downtown area has wonderful shops and restaurants. The drive to the base is longer but many families enjoy the amenities of the town and its communities and opt to locate there. There are many waterfront subdivisions with homes in a wide price range. Swansboro and Hubert are served by the same schools.
