PINK DOOR ~ A CHARITY FOR WOMEN CANCER SURVIVORS
I learned about the Pink Door charity from my new Associate Tiffany Sniezek. This organization focuses on offering assistance for women who are currently recovering from the devastating effects of cancer. Anyone who has ever been through the fight with this illness know that the recovery can be long, lonely and financially draining.
Pink door is a nationally classified 501 c 3 nonprofit organization that has been established since October 2007. The entire focus of the organization is to assist women in getting back on their feet as quickly as possible during and after battling the ravishing disease of cancer. The organization assists in three ways:
-
My Pink Wish Assistance Program -
This program enables women cancer survivors to request their “wish” to come true either during or after cancer. Through Pink Door’s “My Pink Wish” Program, women cancer survivors may apply to have their “wish” come true. Each year, one woman cancer survivor will be selected for her wish to be granted.
-
“WOMEN IN PINK” SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The “Women In Pink” Scholarship Program allows the opportunity to women cancer survivors to go back to school at a nationally accredited college or university for her undergraduate or graduate degree within the continental United States.
-
WOMEN'S CANCER RESOURCE CENTER
Pink Door’s Women’s Cancer Resource Center provides information on job links/careers, healthy living, national and local cancer support groups/nonprofits, a doctor’s blog for the latest in medical information on cancer, as well as Survivor’s Speak – A blog for women cancer patients and survivors have received help from Pink Door.
I am excited to learn about this great organization. As a woman who has battled through two devastating illnesses, I understand how battling through an illness completely turns your world upside down. Organizations such as this are very needed and so important.
I will be looking for ways to get involved with this group! I will certainly be posting up-coming events that they will be doing throughout the year! Thank you Pink Door for what you are doing for women!
