Business Building Questions to ask?

By

In the ever changing Real Estate Industry, business building can be challenging. As you develop your business here are a few questions that are important to ask.

1. What is my business? It is impossible even in a small community to do everything. Know what your strengths are and build your business around them. I have a friend who has been in Real Estate for 30 years as a "Real Estate Consultant". He is not paid by commission, he gets paid by the hour for doing research and clearing up problems associated with Real Estate. He has made a great living focusing on that market alone.

2. Who knows what you do? This is more than marketing it has to do with customer/clent building. Meeting people regularly and learning how to work through the 4 levels of friendship: 1. Acquaintance 2. Pre-Friend 3. Friend and 4. Close friend. The objective of every encounter is to make a friend. Friends are a great resouce in life and business.

3. SHOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE...The saying is: People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. It would be a big mistake to push your agenda before you establish that you CARE about the person. This is probably the biggest mistake people make who get into some form of sales. Take the time to build a relationship before you start coughing up statistics, information and sales tricks. Be a community contributor.

and that is where most fail. They try to be everything to everyone. They know little to nothing. They cant do what they say and then the rep is tarnished.

Well written and good advice for ANYONE looking on tips to build a solid foundation to grow a sustaining business.

Peace

Morning Alan,  It seems like too many agents/sales people skip this step and then wonder why all the gimicky training doesn't work.  Well said !

So very true, the client wants to know you care about their wishes and once they feel that you do, they are a client for life and this usually takes time, but time well spent.
