Bathing In Luxury: The Elements of Bathroom Design

Home Builder with Owners' Ace

In custom built homes, the master bathroom is open to imagination, allowing homeowner and designer to work together to create the perfect space. Whether the style is traditional, contemporary, or Mediterranean, the bathroom provides a luxurious escape within the home. Yet in addition to luxury, bathroom design should focus on 4 essential elements.

Ambiance – The bathroom should evoke a sense of tranquility and warmth. Design elements and finishes should come together to create a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. Flooring, counter tops, cabinets, lighting, bath accessories and paint selections should complement each other in color and style. Tampa builders can utilize glass to create bathroom serenity, as large windows provide picturesque views. Other elements like stone, marble, and granite further add to the room’s environment.

Comfort – The garden tub is a main staple of luxury bathrooms, often crafted wall-to-wall rather than free-standing to provide relaxation and additional space for towels, candles and other necessities. A shower's water source also contributes to bathroom comfort, with options such as rainfall, handheld, overhead, shower columns, steam showers and body sprayers. Built-in shower seats and niches give bathers added room. The addition of towel heating bars and drawers enhance warmth after bathing.

Elegance – In the world of bathroom luxury, there are many brands to choose from, however a few excel above and beyond. The Atlas Ariel aromatherapy shower combines a sweltering sauna with vapor scented steam, creating a spa-like experience. If you are looking for an indulgence, Kohler’s VibrAcoustic bath combines soothing sounds with vibration technology. While Dornbracht’s Horizontal Shower is a highly innovative concept, it doesn't seem comparable to our typical cleaning habits. The Hansgrohe Axor Starck shower collection offers a cleansing experience like no other.

Efficiency – Although sleek in appearance, bathroom appliances are designed with proficiency in mind. Dual flush toilets cut down on water consumption by varying water level and pressure according to liquid or solid waste consistency. Kohler’s DTV Shower System, also allows home owners to control and pre-set temperature and pressure from the touch of a button. Toto’s Washlet Toilet cannot go unmentioned, as its fame rests in its hygiene nozzle, heated seating and self-cleaning capabilities. Seura offers the discreet Mirror TV and the convenient Hydra Waterproof TV.

As custom home builders Tampa, we strive to incorporate ambiance, comfort, elegance and efficiency into every bathroom that we build. If interested in learning more about our remarkable bathroom designs, view our image gallery or contact us.
