Loudoun County VA is America's Richest County!
Loudoun County Virginia ranks as the nation's richest county according to Forbes Magazine. Dulles International Airport, a highly educated workforce and a large Internet exchange point all contribute to Loudoun County's top ranking. But most importantly, being close to Washington D.C. has benefited Loudoun as well. Median household income in Loudoun County Virginia is $115,574. The latest data shows that four of the nation's richest top 10 counties are in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C. with the fifth being in Howard County, MD half way between Washington and Baltimore.
Number two on the top 10 list was Falls Church City, 2.2 square miles in size and just 6 miles outside the Washinton D.C. city limits. Median household income is $114,409. Fairfax County in Northern Va comes in at number three with $105,416 for its median household income. Howard County Maryland came in at number four and Fairfax City VA came in at number 8. So, Northern Virginia claims 4 of the top 10 spots on the list :-)
I can't think of a better place to buy a home than Loudoun County Virginia.
