Now here's a novel marketing idea: give a Glock with every house you sell. That's what one innovative real estate agent is doing in Houston.

Incidentally, you don't need a license to own a hand gun. And it's not as crazy as you might think, because she is restricting the offer to law enforcement officers who buy a house for more than $150,000. But it got attention, didn't it? And it got nationwide coverage from Fox News and others.

So I started thinking, if a free gun is an incentive in Texas, what could work in other states? Here in Maryland, a crab feast might be attractive - wouldn't it be nice to walk out of settlement knowing that your housewarming party is already catered?

Right now, the favorite incentive might be tickets for the Ravens' playoff game...if you could get them.

Whether it's a Glock or hard-to-get tickets, your state probably has something unique that would make a great, attention-grabbing incentive.

What suggestions do you have to get more Bang 4 the Buck?

You may not need a license to own a gun, however here in Florida I need a concealed weapons permit. :)

When I go to collect rent from folks with guns I keep my gun on my person (literally).

Never bring a knife to a Gun Fight. LOL.

Well, that was waaay off topic, Sorry. I get carried away anytime I see a gun. :)

How about tickets to an Ohio State BCS Championship game... seems this will make a good gift, year after year. Used to be the ticket to get was a Browns-Steelers ticket, or an OSU-Michigan ticket, either in Columbus or Ann Arbor...

I love that advertisement "Upgrade to this home with me, and I'll buy your home for cash." That seems to be a real coup.

I heard about the Glock deal on NPR, seems like the Houston police need to provide their own sidearms, and her husband is a cop... she got incredible publicity out of it.

Margaret.. I saw that article about the guns to the texas police officers. In Florida it would be hurricane shutters, but that could get expensive. maybe a coupon for a discount of $XX when you buy shutters? I'll be thinking about this and hopefully can come up with a better suggestion.

Wine huh? I remember I met a gentlemen who would make wine. You could go to his warehouse and taste different ones and choose which properties of the wine you like the most to make your own custom one if you want. Then the labels are printed custom for you with whatever you want on them. I think it was a 50 bottle minimum and thought it was a pretty neat idea. I dont remember the pricing, but it wasn't that much per bottle.. (times 50 adds up though).
