I Do Not Want My Seeds Replaced.. I Want Plants!  I Do Not Want More Bad Promises.. I Want My House To Sell!!



Life becomes analogous to being a real estate broker.  I’ve sometimes wondered why but the truth is that it’s quite evident.  We deal with people’s lives.  There is no way around it and whatever happens in  the everyday substance of peoples’ lives happens in real estate.



Life. day to day..  Our buyer clients do have lives outside of trying to buy a home....Our seller clients have also do have lives outside of trying to sell their home.  A good real estate agent recognizes and salutes that.  



But sometimes we, as agents, do not get the same courtesy from our clients.  SO if you’re a client of mine and haven’t thought about this, let me share it with you.  Not only am I a real estate broker but these other things factor into my life:

  • I’m a wife and all that that entails.  There are different definitions of what that should entail, but to me it means that I’m a good partner in whatever the two of us have decided to take on.  We value our real estate business highly so that gets top priority for business time.  But there are 24 hours in the day and we have made a life decision to NOT deal with business all of those hours.  There are times that I will NOT be available to answer the phone. You need to have become acquainted and secure enough with my business practices to know that I TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS... so don’t panic when you can’t reach me.  Leave me a message.  I may not call you right away but I will be aware of what your message says in short order.


  • I’m a mother.  It doesn’t matter that my children are grown. They factor greatly into my life.


  • I need down time.  Time to Chill.  R & R time.. however you want to define it.  People who do not chill out are not prepared to do their best for a client.  


Ooooops.. almost forgot... I won’t make promises that I cannot deliver.  You don’t need that.  I cannot promise that your house will sell if you’re a seller.  I cannot promise that I’ll find you a home that you’re going to love at a price that you’ll love even more if you’re a buyer.  I can promise you that I’ll do my part to make those things happen  IF I take you as a client.  

So where did that title come from?  I have been looking for seeds for TAM Jalapenos  (Texas A & M)  They were developed to be a bit milder so you get to experience the flavor more than the HOT GIVE ME WATER. experience with jalapenos.  


I finally found them.  Planted them.  Nada.. Zilch.  Nothing came up.  SO I had saved some of the seeds and went through a soaking process to see if the little guys would stick their heads out of the seeds. ZERO.  Seeds are no good.  Went to the company website.  THEY GUARANTEE THAT THEIR SEEDS WILL GROW OR MONEY BACK.    


Woop - de - Doo.  I don’t want more seeds (more promises from a company that sold me bad seed).  I’ve wasted the best time to get those seeds going on bad seeds (just like the best time is when a house FIRST comes on the market).  I don’t want more promises and don’t want to waste my time on something that doesn’t deliver.  I would have paid more for seeds that sprouted.  


I WANT RESULTS.  I WANT PLANTS.    This made me think about real estate (as everything does).  Our clients (you) don’t want to waste time or have promises given to you that don’t mean anything. You want results.    So let’s get together and talk about what results you want/need and how to make them happen.

Judi -- great analogy -- I never thought of it before but seeds are very much like promises ---- such hope in the beginning and often times some disappointment -- maybe it takes some nurturing to develop into a plant or maybe it's just a bad bunch or a someone without much a green thumb.   Nice post to think of the possiblities.
