Mays tips are about life expectancy of appliances in the home. While regular maintenance and care will help extend the life of your appliances and home this is not always a good thing. Older appliances can consume allot more energy than a newer appliance. Some of this is due to new technology and some is due to lack of maintenance or aging parts. New appliances can be 25% to 50% more efficient than appliances that are just 10 years old. Eliminating the old fridge or freezer in the garage can save your $150-$200 a year. Read my previous post about refrigerator recycling in Reno. http://actvra.in/zR4
