For those who earn the Transnational Referral Certification,  a world of opportunities open to you.

For one, your become a "searchable" member of worldproperties.com

It's a website for finding properties and agents around the globe. It also spells out the benefits of the ICREA... Who's that?

ICREA

That's the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations. They represent over two million real estate agents and brokers worldwide. Members are expected to receive certification and to live by a code of conduct.

Members are able to work with agents around the world to facilitate real estate transactions in an environment that helps people purchase real estate through an international network of competent individuals who are experts in their regions. Agents are also able to rest assured that their referrals are in safe hands and that compensation will be handled professionally.

Realtor.org has all the information you need to receive your Transnational Referral Certification... simply go here:

Note: I'm not a spokesperson for the ICREA. I am a real estate agent who assists people locally and worldwide. My emphasis is Arizona and the spanish speaking world. I also started the ICREA group at activerain. I hope you'll choose to be a member and speak to issues of international real estate.

Chuck - I do have my TRC, but I thought that anyone could put a property on worldproperties.com just by asking realtor.com to put it there ....  do you know if that's correct?

Thanks Sharon- yes... worldproperties.com does also display realtor.com listings. I'm assuming that other regions have affiliation agreements as well but don't know what other groups participate.

Yes Kathy- I do international business. When referring to other countries, the ICREA is a great resource for finding skilled professionals in other parts of the world. When doing business with those from outside the country you really need to make sure you know the ownership rules of your area.

Sharon - I posed your question to the ICREA Secretariat and here's the response I received, "Assuming that you are a member of NAR (our US member) then you need to do the following to place a residential property ad on our site.  NAR members seeking to promote their US property listings internationally at WorldProperties.com, can do so by using the “Internationally Featured” service at REALTOR.com.  Only residential listings at REALTOR.com can be promoted at WorldProperties.com.  To learn more about how the Internationally Featured service at WorldProperties.com works, please contact the REALTOR.com Customer Care Team by phone, Monday-Friday from 6am to 5pm PST, at 1.800. 820.6293."

Well I think that sucks.....if anyone can do it then why bother to get the designations, and the CIPS also????  OK, so that was my comment to your comment about properties.....now to the International.....yes, I sold a property overseas, and learned a ton of info......but they didn't use the ICREA forms, and as it turned out the forms made it more complicated......

I want to see more of your stuff....be back later....oh by the way, Hi, my name is Kathy!!!!!

Well Kathy, yes- it could be better. However, as an international relations major in college, I've learned to lower my expectations when working in the global arena. There's really no such thing as international law- just a loose collection of guidelines and diplomacy. It's not a lost cause though- I'm all for any group that seeks to streamline the process- even if it does come with a caveat or two. And, hey!... nice to meet you too!

Chuck,

KAAR is offering the CIPS courses here in TN.  Your opinion, should I take part?  There are very few agents here with that designation.  I feel it will benefit me, what do you think?

Yes Anona! There's nothing like receiving a call out of the blue for a chance to do international real estate.
