Denver's Stapleton Neighborhood has been in the lead for the best new development in its competition against the Lowry Development for the last 4 years. During that time, Lowry neighborhoods have struggled to keep it's standing as Stapleton pushed through it's much loved green-ways and family oriented outdoor business theme.
Residents continually enjoy the central gathering area which consists of a water fountains, benches, play area for kids and of course...the ever important ice cream store. For the more athletic resident, the Stapleton Development is home to various gyms as well as its beautiful greenbelt which provide for a safe but amazingly scenic trail through the neighborhoods! The seamless combination of these aspects has lured residents and expanded this development successfully.
Though Lowry has been holding strong due mainly to its residential and apartment complexes, it has lacked a central hub with as much fanfare as Stapleton. However, Lowry has re-started it's development plan which had been placed on hold for a number of years due to the national recession. Hopefully after observing what worked well in Stapleton and with the vast space available to the North of Alameada Ave and Dayton St, Lowry will be able to create an up-to-date central hub which will set the new standard of Denver Living. This competition can spur newer and better ideas and should help Denver to be the main community and commerce site for Colorado.
