(Not So) Wordless Wednesday ...In Bristol TN/VA Area 5.9.12 ... No More!

Barn

One that is no more!

I've driven by what was one the best images of time going by that I had photographed over the past few years. It was so close to the road you always felt like you could reach out and touch it! Yesterday while on a shortcut to a new listing I topped the hill and it was ...

No More!

It's sad when you've wondered for years what went on in and around an image like this and now it's gone!

Thought for the day ...

Enjoy all the things around you ...one day they'll be no more ...

Howdy and morning Rob

Rob my friend, I sure remember the first mighty fine photo shoot you posted of this here Barn. It sure is a mighty sad time when a Barn has stayed up for so long and it falls down or is knock down by the property owner.

There was a old Barn here that I have watch since I came to this area 12 years ago. That Barn stood up to everything that Mother Nature threw its way, even though it look like it would fall at anytime. Three weeks ago the owner of the property tore it down. It sure felt like losing a friend.

Have a good one

Good morning Rob,

I'm sure it does feel like losing a friend! History has a way of tugging at our hearts as we wonder whose steps made it through a particular piece of land. Time has a way of marching on..doesn't it Rob?

What a bummer! We lost an old house last year. Too bad there is no ceremony to tell abut the history before they put it to rest. :(

Rob: A good reminder that all we see around us is only temporary.  Like Joni...I would have liked to hear the history...shame it is lost forever now.

Sad to see another piece of old history falling and gone.  I'm sure there were a lot of tales the property could tell.  I wonder if anything was salvaged or whether it all went to the dump.

Rob, It is sort of sad that they do tear down these buildings, but I guess that is what they call progress!

Rob- I too love all of your photos, especially the ones of barns.  It's sad to see some of these history rich buildings being torn down.
