Who would have guessed that when I wrote SNOW............It's only November 9th that we would have a record amount of snow here in New Hampshire for the month of December?
We have enjoyed a white Christmas and enough snow that the ski slopes have been open since the beginning of December. Children (old and young alike) got to enjoy the new sleds, skates, skies, snowmobiles, etc. they received from Santa over their Christmas vacations.
Typically here in southern New Hampshire, December is a changeable month featuring one or two snowstorms with some warm enough days to melt the snow in between leaving us wondering if winter is really here to stay.
Not this year. We are in for a long winter so we'll go out and build a snowman or two, shovel, get to work and back then go inside and enjoy a mug of hot chocolate while snuggling up by the fire.
Snow is not all fun and games here as, we with vacant listings, must be diligent to keep a keen eye on our clients properties to be sure the heat remains on and snow is removed from decks and walkways enabling customers to safely view the homes.
I thought you may enjoy some local pictures of the snow here in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. I love how the snow clings to the trees and makes an otherwise drab day look so bright and clear.
What is winter like in your part of the country? Do you love it or tolerate it?
I love the snow but I also love warm sunshine so New Hampshire gives me both, I just have to wait a while to have one or the other.
