By now many fishermen have everything ready to hit the water this weekend.

They have checked the rods and reels, the tackle boxes tires on the trailer, gassed up the motors and an entire host of things.

But there is one thing that many anglers forget...

Boat License.   A Conservation officer that I know said this weekend will be the biggest one for finding boats with outdated license's.

Because you only renew every few years, this is one detail often missed.

So, before you sit down on the couch tonight...go out and check that license date.  it could save you a big headache!

This is a photo of the one that got away!

We are spoiled here in Colorado. Our fishing season lasts all year. We do ice fish some of the area lakes, and we even river fish in the winter. I still have to get use to the fact that not all states allow fishing all year.

Bill, I have done this before.  Got the ticket and now this is one thing I check every year.

Well that could certainly ruin a great weekend if the Conservation Officer tickets you for an outdated license. I would assume it happens quite often.

Bill, We have to license every year so no tickets here! Well, I can speak for us but you'd be surprised how many people will push the issue. And then there's the ones who 'forget' to put in the life vests!
