My Morris County, NJ Garden is Starting to Bloom

Today the sun is finally shining so I grabbed my camera and shot a few photos of my garden which is really starting to bloom. We’ve had nothing but rain in North Jersey for the last four weeks and I know it’s affected my mood along with everyone I know. I think it’s important to get outdoors and feel the sun on your face each day. For me it’s an instant mood elevator. I’m taking some time today to plant, weed, fertilize, deadhead, split my perennials and add mulch to my gardens.

Gardening tip of the week: For anyone trying to grow flowers who has a deer problem (most of us) buy Liquid Fence sold in most gardening stores. It really works and deer will pass your garden by. Just remember to reapply after a heavy rain.

What a stunning garden Kristine. BTW wonder if that Liquid Fence works on a veggie garden too. Bambi and family destroyed our garden last year!

Kristine - As always, your photos are outstanding.  I love the periwinkles, but I'm curious about what those flowers are in the second picture.  Pretty little things!

CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the Photos group!

I couldn't wait for the winter to be over in your neck of the woods. I just knew you'd be posting some of those great photos again once the weather turned warmer. Absolutely beautiful Kristine!

Your NJ garden is lovely.  I feel the same way about the sun!  It was a warm sunny day earlier, but it's starting to cloud over.  At least I was able to get out and enjoy the sun on my face before the clouds moved in.

Thanks for the tip about the liquid fence.  We have issues with deer all the time.  We'll give it a try!

That sounds relaxing, Kris.  Plants really take their lives into their own leaves by entering my house.  We've often called it botany Hell around here, but my oldest son is becoming a green thumb.  Who knows, we might turn it around yet.

Hi Kristine, flowers in spring time are wonderful to look at! I feel relaxed and refreshed!

Very nice photos! My favorite is the third one. It seems that there were tiny, sparkling lights in the background. :)

Thank you.

I have tried dozens of products to keep the deer away, have never tried Liquid Fence. It is worth a shot Kristine, we have trouble keeping the plants that we grow.
