Inventory (suppy) of real estate has decreased dramatically and is currently at the lowest level in more than six years!
Prices have also declined to their lowest levels in many years with interest rates still at all-time historic lows. These dynamics are creating a heated market in certain price points with certain types of properties.
Since dramatic changes are occurring in this market area, there are several dynamics a purchaser should know. One in particular is buyers may find themselves in a multiple offer situation, especially on lower priced homes and foreclosed properties. In some cases, a home buyer or investor may be surprised to learn that even with a strong offer, they lose out to another bid.
The expectation for the North Georgia Blue Ridge area is the local real estate market will continue to heat up throughout 2012. Indications show the market is moving away from a “buyer’s” market to one that is more balanced.
