28 Comments on The Home You Buy Will Hopefully be the Setting for Many Good Memories.
Judi, bringing the children to see the house before purchasing it is also a good advice. Sometimes, you'll be surprised on what they think. I also like the photo you inserted in your blog. It brings out positive perspectives!
Warm regards,
Regina P. Brown
Judi -- a must read for every home buyer. If at all possible, I believe a home buyer needs to look at a house more than once before making their offer -- at the first look buyers may become mesmerized by the home and the second look can provide some much needed perspective. Look at the neighborhood too at different times/days --- you are not just buying a house you want a home in a neighborhood where you can see yourself as part of the community. Congrats on the feature -- well deserved.
Judi - I still remember the first house I bought - the price, the payments, the ugrading and improving. And yes, there are loads of fond memories. We sold it years ago, but a couple of years ago, it came back on the market. I was fortunate enough to go through it once again and relive every nook and cranny within its walls. The current seller had done extensive renovation, and the house was in tip-top shape. I almost wanted to buy it all over again!
Great advice, Judi. These are all things any buyer should think about before signing on the dotted line. Happy Friday!
Judi - well deserved golden star, songratulations. In the end it is all about being realistic
Judi,
Great Blog! with great pointers and tips for buyers. I always suggest they drive through the neighborhood in the evening and weekend if possible to see what the neighborhood is like "after" hours.
Judi, Great advice and great points that buyers should think about. Have a great Friday!
Judi - I think many people have decided that buying more than you can afford is just not the best idea.
Judi: Those are good guidelines. I know people who bought homes way above their needs and means and then could not furnish the home and closed off several rooms.
Great points Judi.. This would make a good piece to hand over to our buyers... Have a Great Friday and congrats on the Feature!
Very well said Judy. Every home buyer should read this post. Congrats on the feature!!
Judi, very good point about memories starting during the buying process. Very good overall advice.
Judi is the perfect welcome wagon and memory generator....the post rings true
Morning Judi, Just closed on a home where the seller had resided for 30+ years with many happy memories. I asked her if she was ready to move on and she answered: " We've had so many wonderful memories here. Now it's time for the next family to have theirs! " This was an emotionally tough one.
This is the type of blog that all buyers need to read. Congrats on a well deserve GOLD STAR!
Judi ~
You provide great infomation and important things to think about during the home buying process. Happy Friday!
Hi Judi, every home I have ever bought was looked at always as where would the Christmas tree go. Even if it was summertime. And all because of the family gatherings and the memories.
Oh, Judi, You are right on target... This was the reason why I became a realtor in the first place. Our realtor wasn't what we expected her to be.
I am trying my best in helping people to find their dream homes and create great memory about the process.
Have a great weekend.
You are so, so right. The home has to feel right and fit the kind of people you are. It's so important to remember the emotional aspect of the home you'll life your life in.
