Seasons of the Sun in Venice FL
Most parts of our country have seasons with change in weather and climate, however, seasons of the sun in Venice FL are throughout the year.
Alligator mating season
Alligators like the sun and live in freshwater- canals, lakes, retention ponds and rivers. April and May is the mating season, they are aggressive if you go near to their nest. It is illegal to feed the wild alligators.
Sea turtle nesting season
Beaches in Venice and Sarasota county are home to the loggerhead sea turtle, they nest and lay eggs on shore at night between May 1 to October 31 each year. They are considered an endangered species, and protected by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. When you go to the beach, remember to remove any items (including trash) you bring to the beach to keep it clean and a suitable nesting ground for the turtle.
We have beautiful beaches, sunshine, sea and gorgeous sunset. Hurricane season is also between June 1 to November 30 every year. So far we have been blessed. We have not had any hurricanes since the worst hurricane (Charley) which occurred on August 13, 2004. We still have to be prepared and pay attention to the weather broadcasts.
Summer is here as well as the summer storms which run from June to October... Sometime it rains in the morning, sometime in the afternoon and sometime at night accompanied with lightning.
