Portland Rose Festival Named In The Top 10 U.S. & Canada Festivals

With The Portland Rose Festival scheduled to open with the celebration events starting May 20th and running until June 17th, 2012, it was of course wonderful to hear that it was named by Travelocity as one of the top 10 spring fairs across the U.S. and Canada!

It's no wonder, between races, rides, the Grand Floral Parade, Fleet week, fireworks and much more, all set along the Willamette River at Tom McCall Waterfront park, there really is something for everyone! With the court selections, open house and the history & roses tour already done, the next event will be the Rock "n" Roll Portland Half Marathon on May 20th.

Hi Rob, the air show will be the first weekend of August, here's the link I haven't been to an air show since I lived in El Paso back in the 90's. Maybe it's time to check one out again

Hi Jill, Yep, the parade is such a big event. People are known to mark their spaces a week ahead of time..which was oddly honored. The City had to crack down on that though.

Hi Gretchen, I know...I heard the news saying it was coming and thought, Oh..let me go check out their site to see when the events are. I hope you get to enjoy them! I usually get to a couple. This year I'm hoping to get a closer look at Fleet week from the water.

Hi Debbie, with the crazy weather we've had this year with an unexpected and odd late snow..our flowers and plants are all confused! It's fun to watch the parade ( I watch on TV) to see all the floats. I'm always amazed at the talent people have to put them together.
