It's the best time of the year to make new year's resolutions, plan your 2008 calendar, and schedule vacations for the new year. You'll know when the holiday season officially ends ... that's when all the football bowl games are over ... they are in full swing this week and won't be over until next week. Then it's back to business as usual for work, school, and community events.
There are several community calendar dates that we need to know about to plan for 2008 ... without conflicts! One of the most important community calendars is the Bay County School Board planning calendar.
January 7, Monday: Records Workday for Teachers (still a holiday for students)
January 8, Tuesday: Classes resume for Students (and teachers/administrators, of course!)
January 21, Monday: Martin Luther King, Jr Birthday (holiday for students and teachers)
February .... the Bay County School website doesn't show any holidays this month
March 13-14, Thursday/Friday: High School testing days/end of the grading period
April 7, Monday: Spring Holidays Begin (teachers and students)
April 14, Monday: Return from Spring Holidays
May 26, Monday: Memorial Day Holiday (students and teachers)
May 27, Tuesday: High School Testing Day
May 28, Wednesday: High School Testing Day/Last Day of School for Students (early release)
May 29-30, Thursday/Friday: Post planning for teachers
