“Sweet Summer Rain!”I’m sitting on my front porch with a cup of hot coffee enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of a gentle summer shower.

We don’t get many of these pleasant rains in these parts. Most of our summer precipitation is typically associated with moving fronts and violent thunderstorms, tempestuous winds, and hail.

As I listen to the water gurgle through the downspout accompanied by the cacophony of bird songs, I am overwhelmed by a sense of calm and serenity.

But I know that the rain will end and so will my respite from the frenzy that is the real estate profession.

But for now, I’m going to have another cup of coffee and enjoy it while I can!

Good morning Richard -

We actually had about a half hour of rain yesterday and a repeat for the next 3 days!  It is the first rain we have seen in over 6 months and we loved it.  The dog wasn't sure what it was!  What a wonderful blessing to have rain......bring it on!

I was talking to my wife yesterday about my friends that live out in the Western deserts and the scarcity of rain and we both agreed that the dry heat was not for us!!!

I know the desert is beautiful but it would be a challenge for us to adapt to the arid climate. Thanks as always.

We had a drought a few years ago in which the city of Atlanta was down to a 30 day supply of water. So we have come to appreciate these "pennies form heaven!" Thanks for jumping in this morning!

Richard,  We've had our share of storms lately (and a couple of toppled tree tops too), and just regular rain too.  It took me about two weeks to finally get a dry enough window to get my lawn mowed.  Pretty tall stuff by yesterday!  Bill

Like you, we seem to get our rain with storms!  

I could use a nice, gentle rain today and a good excuse to not take advantage of the cool, sunny morning we are having..... we've already painted the front doors, pulled weeds from the gardens, re-configured the slate borders..... Have one more cup of coffee for me Please, I'm exhausted!

Richard- when we first moved to Delray Beach from Houston I was longing for some rain.  Someone said "be careful what you wish for", and sure enough, little did I know about Florida summer afternoon showers.  It rained every day for about 2 weeks.
