The JW Marriott Resort in Palm Desert is a flag-ship hotel for the Marriott chain or hotels and resorts. When I first moved to the 
desert in the late 1980's I would take people there just to see the lobby! It is truly a spectacular and stunning hotel! The brand new Rockwood Grill & Blue Star Lounge opened Thursday at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert. Rockwood Grill was previously the LakeView restaurant and has undergone a complete renovation of the main dining room and other areas.
The all-day restaurant features an “upscale-casual menu of diverse American classics” and features a takeout counter for guests.
The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa celebrated its 25th anniversary with a $25 million renovation that included improvements to the resort's Ted Robinson-designed Palm golf course and updates to 884 guest rooms and suites.
