My child is a person!
When my first child was born, so small and brand new, I wanted to know what a good Mom should do.
All he could do was to eat, wet and yell.. And he provided his room with a very strange smell.
The only way to know what to do was to guess what he meant by a cry or a goo.
Then finally he could use some words. The most beautiful sounds a mom ever heard.
Words gave us a chance to hear and to know what each of us felt so we could continue to grow.
We could tell one another with an angry voice, or with a whisper, we had a choice.
When we could talk we could work things out, and solve our problems rather than giving up and pouting.
Words helped us to decide, what is was we were feeling inside.
When our feelings are there to share, we can find hope everywhere.
When we searched down deep in our hearts, love and understanding can have a start.
I've been a Mom for many years now. I am blessed that I did learn how! The thing that was most important to me, was my child became a person, and I like who I see.
