There once was a man, who was starting his first sales job. He started in early December with all his ducks in a row and tons of ambition and drive. December was his first month in sales, and he broke all time sales records. No one had EVER done so well!It amazed his boss and co-workers... "How could anyone, especially a rookie, outsell even the top producers in DECEMBER?" they would say. NO ONE sells anything in December. Their defeatist attitude did them in before they even started.

The next year this man learned as well. In December his second year he sold NOTHING! Why? It's all in your perception. He had learned that the winter months are poor for sales, so he let that destroy his attitude and drive. He chalked it up to the well known fact that had been drilled into his head over and over again during his first year.

This is a true story, by the way! The lesson here is don't let the bad market reports, the time of the year, other people's negative or poor attitudes or anything else for that matter stand in your way!! Homes are being sold every day. There are buyers out there, find them. Get them to see what you have to offer them and then set your own sales records.

December can be an awesome sales month!  In December of 2006 I wrote two offers and had three closings.  And December of 2007 wasn't all that bad either.

Eric, Good for you!!!! I am sure there are tons of success stories out there. It's really a shame when people are influenced by negativity! Thanks for you comment and keep up the good work!

December was my best month in this, my first year!  I have noticed that the naysayers are usually the ones who won't do anything if it requires effort in the first place--let them say what they want:  I've got better things to do than spend the time listening to that crud!
