12 Comments on Ways To Break The Ice With Someone New
Great tips! Breaking the ice is something that needs to happen a lot in real estate because you meet so many people!
HI GARY! Good solid tips! Especially tipping off subjects to avoid!
Yes, always break the ice with comments you mentioned or their car, compliment their family, ask where they bought the great shirt, skirt or shoes and how much you like. But never start with business talk. A good repoire goes a long way.
I find a common area and start from there, it is easy to find you just have to look.
Weather is always a good way to start the conversation, asking open ended question is good, but the non-judging part is hard! :-)
And there's always the tried and true, "how 'bout dem Yankees."
The sooner we can find something in common the sooner and easier it is to talk with people and make friends
You always find the best photos...how do you do that? This one drives home your post as well...cute and true too!
Gary - whenever I'm in a tense situation I love to use humor to diffuse it and everyone loves to laugh. As usual, great words of wisdom. Love the photo and even though the cat is so small he doesn't seem the least bit intimidated by the horse.
Great tips on conversation Gary ... I have been running into some people who only like to talk about other people lately and not nicelt either ...this does not make them look attractive
Gary, this is a wonderful post with some great suggestions for casual conversation! Looking at Hannah's comment above maybe a good addition would be, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!"
What a charming horse property in the photograph!
Great tips.
