The Avengers

We went to see The Avengers on Saturday. It was a birthday present for me and a Mother's Day gift for my wife.

Anyway, the movie is well worth seeing and feel free to bring younger kids. We had our 9 & 12 year old kids with us. There was NO sex, NO nudity and limited language and blood. The blood not gory or gushing. Just cuts, stabs, bloody noses and faces...if you have a 'war' movie you are going to have some blood, but it wasn't like the typical Hollywood gory fest. Yes, it was violent, but it is a 'war' movie.

There was plenty of humor...laugh out loud lines and scenes and good clean fun through the movie.

I recommend this movie highly. Go, enjoy and laugh at a 'god' fighting the Hulk. I won't spoil the scene or punchline, but it was hilarious!

A subtle, but funny scene is when the senator from New York is demanding that The Avengers pay for the damage to Manhatten that occured while they were protecting the city from the enemy (again, not giving anything away). Anyway, there was a big fat D at the end of the senators name.

Funny how politics worm their way into our movie pleasures. In any case it is on my must see list.

Thanks for stopping by everyone. It wasn't much of a post, but I thought the movie was unique enough that I would say something about it.

There are few family movies (that aren't cartoons or stories about animals) that you can take the kids to see.

Yes, my wife enjoyed the movie. She is actually more of a movie person than me.

Than, I'm sure I'll see the Avengers sooner or later...I just saw Avatar for the first time last week...so another year or so and I'll get to see the Avengers.  With that said I really liked Avatar a lot an wished I hadn't waited so long, but that's been my MO forever.

Than, I'll have to look for it when it comes out in DVD - I just don't do movie theaters - long story.  Thanks for the tip - I'll be on the look out.

Took my 7yr old. Awesome movie and I noticed the rant about paying for the damage. Hopefully you sticked around till the end of the credits to see the shawarma scene. It was a classic! If not, it should be on youtube or something!

This is a movie we are already planning on renting for a family movie night. I am sure there are little things I missed throughout.
