Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end

A very insightful, and positive line, from the current movie The best exotic marigold hotel.

"Everything will be okay in the end.
If it's not okay, it's not the end."

I have not yet seen the movie, but I know a good handful of people who have.  It's an uplifting message and a nice thought.  It's right up there with the line "When you're going through Hell, don't stop... keep going!"

Everyone has their own trials and tribulations, and we're often not privy to what they're going through.

This morning, I heard on the news that Sarah Hyland, who plays Haley on Modern Family, is afflicted with Kidney disease.  She's often in pain, and very weak... and yet she manages to plow through a very demanding filming schedule.

She noted, in an interview, that you'll often see her character sitting down, or leaning against a wall, or post.  "If you see Haley walking up the stairs, that's my exercise for the week." She's worked through the pain, while waiting for a donor for a kidney transplant.

She just received that transplant on April 13th, in a donation from her father.  She says that she "has a second chance at life, not something everyone gets."

Brave young girl, and you'd never know it unless you were part of her inner circle.

I guess, now, I'll have to go see The best exotic marigold hotel, won't I?  First the Hunger Games... then I'll see it.

Alan...

The human spirit is an amazing thing. To see such a young person overcoming a potentially deadly disease is very inspirational.

HA!  It's sad to hear of anyone dealing with any disease, especially one so young.

I have news for all.

The older we get, the more we learn to deal with every single solitary day.

Home is where the hearth is.

UPDATE:  I had missed the portion of the story that noted that she DID get a kidney transplant...from her father... I've updated the story above.

Michael - apparently she had Kidney Dysplasia... (not sure what that is).

Richard - they said it was totally life threatening.

Lenn - I know.. but it's particularly difficult to hear of such troubles in someone so young, and then so incredible to hear that she's handling it so well and stoically.

Our prayers go out for Miss Hyland and her loving father! From what you say she is an inspiration! Life is not with out pain, those with hope can over come it!

I know which movie I am going to definitely see!  Love the actors.  The quotes you cited are so uplifting.  I love it that the actress is not letting her difficulties stop her dreams!

I had no idea about Sarah Hyland - amazing how people just keep on going. I guess there really is no valid excuse, is there?

At least you have the order of movies in good order.  You'll need something to lift you up from what I'm hearing about Hunger Games.

What a remarkable father. It's no small decision to give up a life sustaining organ. Love knows no bounds.

You know I really can't complain when there are so much more people going through worse hardships.  You would never know she is faced with a disease.  Her attitude can all give us a lesson.

Home is where the hearth is.

Suzanne - you're right...as a father, it's my job to make sure my children are safe and healthy... I'd do anything I had to do.

Cheryl - it's hard to complain when you hear people going through this sort of thing.
