Help Grow Localism Now, before you're too late...

I encourage everyone to get involved with the Localism site.  This will become an excellent place to showcase your contributions to your community while adding links to your website and points to your ActiveRain score - both of which are very important for search engine ranking.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, ActiveRain is doing extremely well with search engine optimization (SEO) and the impact is spilling over to the members who actively participate.  I know that my Point2 Agent site has gone to the first page of Google for "Hemet Real Estate" and "Hemet Realtor" and I am getting close with the most coveted term in Hemet for a Realtor - "Hemet CA Real Estate"since I came on board Active Rain.

My theory is the more you can do to make this a better place, the better off you will be in the long run.  So you may ask yourself, "Self, what can I do to make ActiveRain better?"

The answer is simple.  Post blog articles everyday.  Include it in your schedule of things to do everyday to build your business.  Don't take a haphazard approach, because then you will only get haphazard results, and that's not why you are here.

Get involved in Localism.  Add pictures, identify your local neighborhoods so others can search by the terms you use locally to describe your city or town.  Add pictures that are unique to each community.  (Do you realize that just by uploading your first 10 pictures, you will earn 600 points!) Write blog articles about each community.  When you show a home you like, write a blog article - show the public you know what you are doing.

This is a great place to be and we are here at a great time, so I encourage everyone to get involved in as big a way as possible.  Just one last word...if you don't, then someone else will be there before you and get all the credit

Now Have a Blessed Day,

Very interesting post John. I have "peeked" at Localism, and I did add a few photos, but you've given me some great ideas - Thanks!

My P2A site is still not ranking at all well, nor is my P2A blog (they are findable, but only just). The site I built about a year and a half ago as an e-PRO excercise, and had another (custom) site I was working on at the time, so it just sat there. This summer, I decided to revisit it, and in August got serious, added content and bought my domain name, which probably went live at end of month, so that makes it a little over 4 months old...I seem to be languishing in the Google sandbox...so...

I'm curious. How old is your P2A site?

BTW, I am finding my active rain blogs already appearing easily in searches. How do they do that vodoo that they do?!
