Stowe Weekend of Hope - Held in Stowe, Vermont

Stowe Community Church, Stowe, VTDuring the first weekend of May (since May of 2000), the Stowe Weekend of Hope Planning Committee puts together a three day event in Stowe, Vermont.  The weekend is jam-packed with amazing speakers, inspirational talks and workshops and exciting entertainment. 

Also there is a Green Ribbon Campaign of local businesses which donate 10% of their sales during the weekend to the event.  Many of the hotel and inn rooms are free to the cancer survivors.  The event has grown every year.  Stowe has a large number of volunteers who put this gathering together.  The setting could not be better!

As a resident of Stowe, I have seen this gathering of people from the "outside" during the past 12 years.  This year, I received a phone call from one of the event coordinators.  They needed a photographer - for "free" of course - to capture the activities and people.  I said I'd be happy to volunteer.Stowe Weekend of Hope - Stowe, VT

I was able to attend the major events, some of the workshops/sessions, and capture some attendees enjoying Stowe.  I was amazed by everyone and everything I saw and heard.  The cancer survivors (and their heart and sole givers) are an amazing group of people.  The volunteers gave 120%.  It was all about togetherness and hope.  I think I learned more about hope than most of the participants - they already had it together.

I put the photos and a few videos together to share with anyone interested.
