Something for everyone this winter in Maine! The snow is here...so what's up to take part in to make the most of the winter in the northeast? Well, for starters, February 10th, the Owlsboro Transportation Museum has a Winter Transportation Festival. Everything from a 1929 Model T snowmobile to other antique sleds, ice boats, snowplows, snow blowers, sleighs, sleds and toboggans. Visit the Maine Snowmobile Association site too for activities around the state. Or how about a Snodeo...no, not a misprint...the Rangely Snodeo January 24-26 has a dance, auction, family ride and cook out, radar speed runs and chili - chowder cook off. There are hands on children's activities, turkey bowling (yeah..that one had me stratching my head too). There will be a drawing for a new Artic Cat snowsled , a snowsled light parade thru Rangely, fireworks, pig roast, and lots of local entertainment. Visit the site for more, Rangely Lakes Snowmobile Club. One other event that have to mention is the Pine Tree Camp Snowmobile Ride - in in Newport February 1-2. This is the one Nascar Racer Ricky Craven helped really raise some money for a super event. Learn more at the Pine Tree Society website. And don't forget the 4th Annual Andy Santerre Sno-Run Saturday, February 9th. For more information visit the Aroostook Mental Health's site. Andy was the 2002-2005 Busch North Series Champion and other Nascar team owners, drivers and crew members will be on board
for the winter fun and games in the Caribou, Maine area of Aroostook County! Maine has the snow, the fun this winter. Climb on a snowsled, strap on a pair of skis, round up the kids and the toboggan. Dig out the ice fishing gear, ice skates and build a bon fire to laugh about the winter fun!
