...rainy day in Georgia

Hi and Happy New Year to all.

I'm having a lazy day and am thinking about what I hope to achieve in 2007.  I am losing the first 2 months of the year as I recover from back surgery (more time to type - lol) and I still intend to have my best year yet!

I am really excited about the fact that I will have a booth (with my partner) at one of the Home Shows at a local mall at the end of next month.  I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in doing these kinds of shows and if so, might be willing to share some thoughts.  I am open to any ideas/suggestions from anyone :>

To me, this kind of exposure can't help but grow my database and further down the line, my pocketbook too. lol  If mall traffic is at a 50,000+ count for a weekend, the possibilities seem almost unlimited.

Thoughts?

Miss Laurie - Welcome Back!  Glad to see you're recuperating.  But how can you be sitting in front of a computer with a bad back?

I've done these home shows - years ago.  Bring lots and lots of giveaways.  Lots of business cards.  Create MLS books for people to browse through.  If computer access is available, bring a few laptops for people to look at listings on.  Bring more giveaways.  Have helium balloons with your website on them to give away to the kids.  Bring more giveaways.

Don,

neener, neener, neener! roflmao  You are, of course, correct.  I am only allowed to "sit" at my desk for 30-40 minutes at a time.  BUT, my lap can go anywhere for any length of time and along with it my laptop:)

Thanks for the warm welcome.  So do you think giveaways are a good idea?

We are thinking of contacting local vendors, retailers, etc. to donate for drawings as well.  You just reminded me that I will need to check on wi-fi hookup.

Laurie - I think I forgot to mention that you need to have giveaways.

You want to attract kids, so they will bring their parents to your booth.  Helium Balloons or popcorn branded with your information would be good.  My owner also does marketing, and would be more than happy to market any item for cost.
