Same photo...different focus.

The more I learn to manipulate the camera the more fun I am having.  (No...it doesn't beat out fishing!)

Here are two of the same photo, with a different subject in focus.

The focus here being the Leaves and blossom of a birch tree.

This photo has the focus of the pond in the background and the leaves are left a blur.

This opens up a new avenue of photo's for me.

William - If you were fishing, where's the focus on the fish. . .teehee:-)  One of the things I've noticed about photography, is when it is on your mind, little else can matter:-)

It's amazing the different looks you can create when you vary your depth of field.

William, It is amazing what a difference a little thing like focus can make!  Great post!

Bill...

Depth of field is an important consideration when you take a photograph. I need to write about that one of these days.

Bill,

With a high f-stop and a mid-rnage focus, both the foreground and distance can be in focus also. :)

I like Steve's #9 comment.  In photography to get the best shot you need to compromise. . .Now, if we could only get Washington to do that:-)

This is interesting.  My camera isn't good enough to try this, but of course, I may ust need to know how to do this..
