This AR blog amazes me, I posted a blog wishing all of Ar a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year. I had 87 views and 41 clicks and only 14 reciprocated.

What is wrong here...I mean if you don't want to wish me well if I wish you well, then that's fine..but how insulting is it to not wish a peer good luck and Happy Holidays as well?

Why even bother to look? I look at you all as my peer's, my friends, why not reciprocate?

Why not reply back?

This part of AR bother's me...I mean 87 views and only 14 people who wish you good luck and a happy Holiday in return?

Amazing...

I wish you well, but you don't wish the same to a fellow agent...

That is sad, really sad!

I wish good luck to you all...thank you to my true friends...who reciprocated!

Karen- The 87 views are not all from Active Rain members. Most of our views come from outside of active rain where people do not comment. They would have to log in and many people online do not want to do that. On my outside blog I have like one comment after months of blogging but on AR I get comments from members. ONce in a great while I will have a non member write a comment. That is very typical of a response. Now out of the 41 clicks, and 14 comments that is very normal and average. Keep blogging. Katerina

I read a lot of blogs on AR and comment only when I have something important to add to the discussion.  I might read your blog, agree and smile, but not comment.  Please don't hold that against me.

Sherry,

That's OK, but what hurt was that I was wishing all my friends a Happy New Year!  I mean, would it be bad to just stop in and say..."same to you?"....OK, I may be sensitive, but...I mean...it's not discussion, it's not about a topic...it's just sending good will and good fortune...is that different?

Happy New Years Karen!  I always try to reciprocate comments on people's blogs but am so far behind with my tendonitis acting up big time.  I don't know if I responded or not on that one but I, for one, appreciate your contributions in the rain :)

Have a great week!

Dear Karen, It happens to all of us! I honestly didn't see your well wishes or I would have wished you well right back! In fact, Happy New Year! Although, I went back to do that on your other post. Please don't get discouraged. I'm relatively new here on AR and I'm learning to just be patient. Keep up the great attitude and you will gather many friends. You certainly may call me a friend. PS. Renee is behind! :-)) Deb

You look great in red!!

Also realize that your own clicks are counting.  And if you refresh your page, it counts.  Every time you look at your own page, it counts as a click.

The stats are kind of misleading that way.  I'd be happy if most of my posts got 14 responses.  I average about 5 or maybe 8 responses on almost every post, if that.  Some get none, some get two.

I stopped being hurt by it...eventually.  I was really bummed when I wrote what I considered some brilliant pieces, we're talking gold-star-featured-post worthy, and got very little by way of response.

That's just the way it is.

Mea culpa, mea culpa. Happy New Year. May 2008 bring you health, happiness and fortune. (I think we're all a little click-happy this time of year, falling ever so slowly off the rum egg nog high. Like other commenters I'm behind in visiting folks and leaving a note. Glad you reminded us...)

Karen - so many members have written that it is not a good thing to comment with  "me too" that perhaps some that read your New Years greeting just didn't have the words to express that were not already said.  Don't let it get to you.

Have a Happy New Year!

Lots of people look and don't comment Karen. Add to that the people that view more than once and of course each time you go back and view your own blog counts.

Simon,

I realize that...That's not the point, I don't care that much. I wrote about it b/c so many people and don't comment.. I wrote this and didn't only checked in on it once, until last night again...

The point is positivity and generosity in feelings...well wishing is just "NOT THAT TOUGH!"....which is my point...well wishes to all...reciprocation is not that tough!

Are you talking about people reciprocating comments with people who have commented on your blog?

I personally grow tired of seeing comments in posts that don't add to the topic all in the name of reciprocation of points.  I do my best to respond to comments and reciprocate but sometimes stuff happens.  I don't think anyone meant to slight you in any way by it.  I post comments all the time on blogs that never reciprocate.  It just encourages me to write more interesting blogs when it happens and if someone I respect posts a comment, I know I have improved.

Amanda,

I'm not saying that I feel slighted in ay way shape or form...I'm just pointing out in general that is nice to reciprocate good wishes...

It's like if you send out 100 Holiday cards and you only get 5 back ...it's the point of the matter, I'm not taking it personally.

Thank you for your opinion though...
