Ok this is going to be one of the most unusual posts on this site but I want to talk about 2 pices of real estate that are in fact so large, I am not sure if you could do a CMA on them?  (What is the going price for Hydrogen anyway?) There is a big mass of hydrogen being fused into helium about 93 million miles away that is held together by nothing more than gravity.  Then, there is this big chunck of rock about 2 days journey from here that as humble as it is ,gives use tides, etc and is essential to us.  Heck one day they say we can be Realtors there too maybe.  It is called the Moon.  3pct buyers closing costs paid in the Sea of Tranquility!  hahahah!

On May 20th, these two are engaging in a dance of sorts that will be extremely rare and according to the Mayans portends the end  (of course maybe we are reading the calendar upside down!) .

 I thus far done my homework and will strive to hook up my 8" Schmitt-Cassegrain Telescope and 8" solar filter over the front of it  with my CCD camera connected to my laptop to capture some pictures.  I have determined that from where I will be at the time that the Sun will be high enough on the horizon (20 deg) to get a good shot at provided the weather is coorperative here in Los Angeles.  Things will be great for the West coast from a diagonal line from Washington to Texas.  The rest of the country will have to just see pictures...sorry!

 

It will be many years before this happens again.

Next month:  Our neighbor Venus skirts accross the sun from our perspective.

Will the earth end? Why worry when should live our lives anyway as if we should be called from it the following day?  Nonetheless it will still be fascinating to see.
