Clint: It seems to be a growing problem that really needs to be addressed nationally. Good that you are on the job in Carlsbad NM!
Client - this is one of those inspections where I'd have to ask what was done right! Good thing they had you to spot all these problems! Once addressed I'll bet they will see their heating bill go down!
Clint - WOW! Amazing! Whatever happened to the old school way of "doing a job right"?
Clint, I would like to see a house that was less than 10 years old, been many older homes of late. I am not a big fan of those fans, then not installing them in professional manner just makes it worse.
Hi Clint. Did the lack of proper ventilation create mold?
Hi Rob,
Yes there shoud be. but there never is.

Good morning Kathy,
It has a lot to do with supervision on the job.
The less educated about construction tend to get left alone when they are the ones needing the most supervision.
Thanks for the comment.

Hi Joan,
But this is what makes the buyers and seller very mad at the builders.
This is why you always get a good home inspection when buying a home.
Have a good day in Denver.

Hello Fred,
Looks like they used a beaver to cut out the opening.
Sad part is there were two of them and they both were the same way.
Thanks for the comment.

Hey Al,
Looks like another "drive by approval" to me.
Have a great day in Ormond by the Sea,

Hello Anita,
It seems to be a trend of contractors not wanting to do the job correctly.
The fastest and easiest way possible.
Have a great day in Georgia.

Hi Kristine,
The more ventilation the lower the heating and cooling costs.
The problem is that the contractor really does'nt care what it costs you to live in the home.
Have a great day in New Jersey. Thanks for the comment.

Hello Barbara,
As you have probably found out, that went by way of the "horseless carriage" LOL
"There are some who still do this, but they are far and few between".
Have a good week ahead in Rockwall, Texas.

Morning Clint good data but at my age I don't climb into attics. Although after yesterdays game it feels like it.
Hi Donald,
Here I have been inspecting the 1960's for a while. LOL
I don't get that many newer homes. The buyers think they are O.K. because of the current laws.
HMM..... maybe they should read this post.
Have a great day,

Hi Conrad,
No .... for the simple fact it looks like they never used the exhaust vents very much at all.
Have a good day in Massachusetts.

Hi James,
