Half Price Books

In our downsizing efforts over the past nine months, one of the most frequent destinations for us has been "Half Price books."

Eight hours or more a day and seven days a week this creative destination has given us a place to take no longer wanted books. Everything from marketing to religion..... you name it, we've read it.

The fact that their idea about what the books may be worth is definitely not generous.  The idea that they "buy" books is ludicrous but, it does however beat throwing books away.  I guess you could call this our contribution to green recycling.

We have taken an incredible number of once treasured books to the shop. We once had an entire room filled with bookshelves.  I estimate that weve take 30 boxes of books to Half Price.  We are now down to just two bookshelves.  What progress we are making albeit slow.

It means a lot to know that the literature we have loved and housed for so long will be gently recycled into the homes of others.

Knowing about "Half Price books" has been a priceless addition to our move.  I believe there is probably one near you!

Makes so much sense (almost said cents) to take your books to places like this. I know avid readers really enjoying buying previously read books as well. Good luck on the downsizing!

Ralph & Jeanne, sounds like a great place to bring all those books and find new treasures.  My wife and I primarily use our local library or seek out these discount book stores.
