While I'm not a gourmet cook, I certainly do enjoy the creativity and imagination that goes into cooking. More so, I love to read cookbooks and menus.
Here's a recipe for a great blog:
- The title should sound delicious and mouthwatering. Everyone who reads the menu should feel compelled to order something or read the blog.
- The pictures should be compelling - it should create a sensation of temptation and curiosity. What is this? Why is it here? What does it mean?
- The introduction should be warm and welcoming. Perhaps a little bit about where it came from or why it's important.
- The main part of the menu should be organized and in bullet points. There's just too much going on for a reader to plow through paragraphs of content when they can skim the bullet points to get a sense of the taste of the food.
- The descriptions of the foods must be satisfying. I want to skim the bullets and then delve deeper into the ones that appeal to me, hoping to find a rich tantalizing description.
- The desserts must be sweet calls to action that leave the reader, and diner, wanting more.
Bon appetit!
