OK, now this is just getting ridiculous. I can understand the spam on my personal emails, but when I start getting them at work, it is out of control. This morning I got up to find out that I won 700,000 euros from a lottery that I email entered me in. WOOhooo. All they need is my legal name, my home address, my age, if I have sex or not, blah blah blah.

OK, do you take me for a 2 year old? Do I look that stupid. I hope that no one is falling for this crap.

There are a lot of gullible people in the world.  I guess it only takes one or two from the million to make a few bucks.

Danny,

Very old news here...I've been getting them for a long time...when you expose yourself on the Internet from blogging it's the good and the bad...the bad is they have all your contact info.

Danny... get use to it... this has been going on for years, hardcore. Once you are in front of the public, a community like this, you will be spammed.  And I just read Neal's comment...  so ditto....

Wow Danny! You mean you haven't called yet to claim your prize?!  Just think what you could do with all that money!  Get on the phone now!!!  Don't wait!  You're going to miss out if you don't call and claim it!

All kidding aside - these con artists should be strung up.  And in a perfect world we wouldn't have to deal with this stuff, but alas....

Jeff, I am sure that they are.

Neal, yeah, I guess I just never really expect them to get through the spam blockers.

Jeff, gotcha.

Carol, I will get right to it. LOL

Did you know that you have a distant relative (in Algeria) who just happened to be the sole heir to the oil fortunes of that country and I am sorry to report they just perished in a plane crash. Please call me with your bank account number so I can wire your millions to you ASAP. Thanks for playing!

Unfortunately there must be people falling for these tricks or they probably would not persist.  Yesterday, I found out that a long lost (and unknown) relative in a foreign country passed away and his solicitor needed a contact in this country to help with the estate or all of the millions would be confiscated.

I did get a good laugh out of it, since the family member had my husbands name and his entire family has been in this country for at least a couple hundred years, sadly without anyone venturing out to other countries.

Our team's website host added the human test feature similar to that on active rain to our website and it has dramatically cut down on the spam, but we do get the occasional offer from Nigeria.
