For me, 2007 was a decent year. Nothing gang-busters, but I made ok money. Basically, I got out of it what I put into it. And I think that's the point.
The great thing about real estate is that if you're willing to invest the time - you'll get rewarded. I know I'm guilty of getting a few listings in my pocket and then taking a little bit too much time off between transactions.
Even in a down market, if you work smart and hard, put in the time, get your name out to the community and your sphere of influence you can make more money than most people are able to make at their "regular jobs".
I love the real estate business. I love previewing properties, I love walking through new construction, I love closing a deal that some people might have thought couldn't be done because of either price or terms.
After almost 16 years, I think 2008 will be my best year in real estate yet - regardless of the market indicators.
