Oh that's awful. Whatever comes to them, they deserve.
I think the misnomer about a short sale negotiation is the buyer may walk before you get that chance.
I had this happen. My end of the short sale was easy. I got bank approval in less than 4 weeks, but the buyer tied us up with financing issues for three months. This was a tough property so we stuck with the buyer. At the end of 3 months, the buyer walked and left 2000 in earnest money. The buyer was upset the seller kept her earnest money, but she did a great disservice to my sellers, and that's all they ended up with. The house went into foreclosure.
The sad truth is they were never actually interested and just playing some stupid game or wanted it to take forever and when it didnt they had no other excuses. These people should have lost earnest money and then tarred and feathered
Since the process took 2.5 weeks I think the buyer actually ran, not walked. The world is a funny place and a deal ain't done until it is done. Life balances out though and this buyer will be replaced and good things will happen.
Karl, Amazing. We've been waiting on a response on our buyer's offer for almost four months, we'd have LOVED a 2.5 week answer and approval.
I am with Erv on tis one. His comment is spot on. The Buyer did not walk away, he ran. Great that you are getting another buyer
Karl: You're right ... this should be a crime ... with a severe penalty too! I can only imagine the frustrations Lisa must have felt. Keep those live circus animals on hold a bit longer. You'll be celebrating with those new buyers soon ...
