How to reach 100,000 points in less than 5 months

By
Real Estate Agent with Remax First Realty II 0790808

On December 31, 2011, we wrote our very first blog post stating our intentions to blog on a regular basis. Today, we reach 100,000 points. Here's how we did it:Goals

  • Comment on at least 10 blogs per day x 25 points = 250 points per day = 1750 points per week.
  • Blog 10 times per week, including an AR channel for each post x 225 points per post = 2250 points per week.

At that rate, it will take 25 weeks to reach 100,000 points. You could do it sooner by:

  • Writing content interesting enough to get featured = 150 extra points.
  • Write content interesting enough to get comments = 10-100 extra points.
  • Participate in all of the interesting contests AR provides = 1000-6000 extra points.
  • Reblog interesting posts = 25 points per reblog.

The points aren't what AR is about, but the points do reward behaviors that are necessary to get business!

Where were you 5 months ago with this advice?  Just kidding :)

It sure takes a lot of work to hit that milestone in less than 5 months.  I'm slowly making my way to the 100,000 mark right now.  Not sure when it will happen ... but it will eventually happen!

Congratulations, that takes a lot of dedication. As I'm sure you have seen many join AR and give up because they don't see immediate results. blogging isn't immediate, it takes time, but the results when they come are HUGE!

Thank you all for your comments.

Tammy - I sure hope you're right! So far we haven't seen business directly from AR or blogging, but we're optimistic!

Good luck, Carrie! You can do it!

Edward and Celia - you are so right. Before you know it, the numbers just pile up!

Donna - Thank you so much for your compliment! We love doing the Q&A - one of us writes the question and the other one answers it. Those are the only posts we really write as a team!

Paula - we love being in the rain! Thanks!

Todd - Thanks for the confidence - while we haven't seen a direct benefit in terms of business, we have both felt more prepared for appointments and showings because of advice we've received here!

The only one of those suggestions I have trouble with is the reblog.  I can never find enough of those that I feel make good reblog sense for me so that I'm not just blatently scarfing points.  I do love to reblog but I like for them to be meaningful.  We've been doing all the rest though and the points are really rolling in.  Not at the level of you guys but piling up!!!

Thanks, Richard and Beth!

Jeanne and Ralph - I find the same thing with reblogs. I hate to reblog something I don't love, so I save it for blogs I feels strongly about.

Thanks, Roger!

Wayne and Jean Marie -- You missed another way to bump your score more quickly. Just logging in consistently is worth 3,000 points per month.

The real bonus to blogging is building relationships. I got my first referral this week, not because of my location but because of the content in my posts.
