Sell Your Unwanted Books

Did you know that you can sell your unused books on Amazon.com?  If you are like me you have a few books just collecting dust on your bookshelf.  I had books that I ordered through Borders only to realize that the book didn't have what I was looking for or I had books that I read and used but that I hadn't touched in a long while.  In the past three months I've sold about 6 books through Amazon.com and I opted to receive gift cards for Amazon for payment.  You do pay a very small fee for the privilege of selling through Amazon.  If you have books to sell check them out at http://www.amazon.com/ or through http://www.borders.com/ .  For newer agents just getting into the business this is a way to increase your library at nominal cost.

Happy selling!

ooohhh.  great tip! I might have to go through some of the old books that haven't been touched in years and get rid of them.  :)  Only so I can have an excuse to buy more though.

How's the cost compare to ebay?  Is it a bidding format or a straight price?

Thanks!!

Hey Kristin,

Straight price.  You determine what you want to sell your book(s) for and the consumer picks you based on cost and reviews of past clients.  I just sold a book to a new agent in NJ.  We have been writing back and forth a bit as she has LOTS of questions about real estate.  I just extended an invitation to her to join Active Rain.

Wow! This is a great hint. I am moving and am not going to have as much room as I used to...now I know how to make some money from some of my oldies but goodies! Thanks Karen.

Nice tip. We always have tons of books and this is honestly something we have not thought of.
