27 Comments on Now you know why you need a home inspection.
Hi Dee,
I have heard that some buyers think that a home inspection is a waste of money.
What about all the money wasted on repairs that could have been negotiated in the closing?
Too late, and way too sad.
Thanks for the comment, Clint McKie
Good morning, Clint. Yes, there are so many reasons for home inspections...not just dishonest contractors, but also general wear and tear from the outside elements. A buyer would be crazy not to have an inspection.
Clint, flippers sure make the "exterior of the home" look spectacular, but recently did an inspection that all the major components of the home had severe issues, and ended up canceling the contract! It would be a huge mistake for a buyer not to do an inspection - new or old home!
Client - you bring up an excellent point that even if a home is brand new there are contractors who take shortcuts and the only way to find issues is to always have a professional home inspection! When I saw the first picture I thought it could also become the home for a bee's nest!
Hi Debbie,
There are too many resons to get an inspection,
But there are those who would complain about each one.
Have a great day,
Best, Clint McKie
Hi Joan,
Flippers, seem to try everything in the book. But I already know nearly everything. I wrote the book. LOL
Have a very nice weekend in Denver.
Best, Clint McKie
Hi Kristine,
A great place for a bees nest. Or a birds nest. The critters will nest anywhere they think they are safe.
Could cause a fire as well.
Have a great weekend in New Jersey.

Great advise that all buyers of new or used property should heed! If any of our buyers decline an Inspection we require them to sign a waiver saying the benefits were explained to them and they are waiving inspections.
If you can afford to purchase you can afford the relatively small cost in comparison for inspections for your own protection and peace of mind. Sellers quite often aren't aware of potential issues.

Clint, Whats a little water and electricity going to do? Also birds and bees need a safe place to nest too ;)
Only of late have I realized the damage that can be caused by birds and other wildlife. Good Information Clint, and nice "catch"
Hi Sue,
That's the way to go. Most sellers don't even think there is a problem till after the inspection.
Have a great day.
Best, Clint McKie
Hi Donald,
This is so true.
Now that you put it that way. I will have to change my report, "A LOT" LOL
Have a good weekend my friend.
Best, Clint McKie
We always recommend a professional home inspection.
I hope you are having an outstanding weekend.
Hi Roy and Delores,
I don't know about a "outstanding weekend" unless you count out-standing on a roof during another home inspection. LOL
Have a great Sunday my good friends in Virginia.
Best, Clint McKie
Morning Clint if I hear you correctly you are just trying to keep animals from enjoying affordable housing. It would not surprise me if one day that would be against the law.
Clint - you provide ample eveidence that a home inspection can point out simple and inexpensive cures to problems that cna become expensive to cure in the future.
Home inspections are a must! Keep spreading the word! It is good for your business and good for those who use your services! Enjoy your day!
Clint,
You do a great job promoting home maintenance. This is unfortunately an area many people neglect. Isn't it a shame that advertisers on TV can influence women to make so many beauty improvements and exercise commercials and TV shows are hypnotic - yet when it comes to home maintenance, nobody is talking on National TV. Consequently, people live in homes with issues that can cost them their lives, destroy their homes, or make them sick.
Hi James,
And they will eventually outlaw the fly swatter as in humane. LOL
Have a great day in Arkansas my friend.
Best, Clint McKie
Hi Wayne,
That's what I'm trying to do.
There was a client that called for a home inspection. He said the bank "did not require one" but he wanted one just for peace of mind.
Remember "venting the right way post"?
Yep, same home.
Best, Clint McKie
Hello Patricia.
The only "home maintenence" ad's I ever see is the big stores of Lowes and Home depot.
Now, they want you to keep improving and maintaining your home.
