For the past few days, I've been a little slow with acknowledging your comments... with good reason.  I've been spending a lot of time at the hospital with my son and daughter-in-law, who just had their first baby, Jack Lawrence.  We're very fortunate to have them nearby, in Northern Virginia - about an hour from Crofton, Maryland - and we're likely to spend more time with them in the few days as Sharon recuperates from an emergency C-Section.  So please be patient, and forgive me if I'm not very prompt with reciprocating your comments or completing the military directories I started.  When I'm not with the family, I really must take care of some real estate business!

Jack is our fifth grandchild, and he comes just weeks after Mary Margaret.  Unfortunately, she and her parents are in Texas, so we haven't seen her except in pictures.

Meet Mary Margaret, born December 7, 2007 - 8 lbs, 10 oz.

And Jack Lawrence, born January 2, 2008 - 8 lbs., 1 oz.

The babies and parents are both healthy, so that's the best news of all!  When I started doing real estate in my 20's, who would have guessed I'd still be doing it as a grandmother of five?!?!?

Margaret, what absolutely beautiful grand babies! I'm so jealous...I would love to have grandchildren. They are so beautiful and you are indeed blessed.

Your new granddaughter is lucky her parents didn't name her Pearl in honor of Pearl harbor day! LOL My husband threatened to name our child Pearl if they were born on Pearl Harbor Day. Thank God the child was a HE and was born on the 4th. Whew..

Linda - Thank goodness they didn't think of that.  I LIKE that she's named after me!  And Jack's named after my husband.

Norma - Thank you!  We're having a wonderful time with our son and his family, and look forward to seeing our granddaughter in the coming weeks.

Lynda - Your comment posted while I was writing this, so I'll edit to include you - Yes, my son is not only close, he and his wife both WANT us around, which is nice.   Not all adult children feel that way.

Hi Margaret:  These little darlings are just beautiful.  Jack Lawrence seems to just want to sleep... always a good choice.  He is cute.  And Mary Margaret... how adorable can one little girl be ?  My favorite is the picture of Mary Margaret sleeping, wearing her little pink cap that says "It's A Girl !"  Gee Margaret, they're so cute!  Don't they just make you want to have another one yourself ?  (grin)  Where in Texas do Mary Margaret's parents live ?  With the baby, they're going to be needing a bigger house, won't they ?  LOL

Cindy, thanks!  Getting back to normal is the next thing on my list!

Lisa, I guess we're all just suckers for babies!

Karen Anne, Sorry, they're in Houston and they have a huge house tha will accommodate about 3 more kids. But I can't go see them without visiting Susan, too, so I'll probably see you again soon.

Nestor & Katerina - I know you must be enjoying your new grandbaby, too!  'Hope all the drama has settled down!

Elaine, thank you.  This post doesn't really fit in my business plan.... lol...  but I wanted to try out the slide show.

Sally - Thank you, I thought they belonged in the POSITIVE ATTITUDE group, because there's nothing more positive than a healthy baby!

Ginger & Roger - Thank you, I'll take all the credit for that!  Good genes!

Thesa - It's going to be hard to spoil a baby in TX, but Jack's mom and dad are looking forward to our doing exactly that with him.

Julie - You are right.  Of course, all new babies are little angels!

Jesse and Kathy - Sharon is doing great.  But it will be a challenge when she gets home from the hospital and Steve gets back to work.  Stairs will not be her friend!  But her mom is arriving from Florida on Sunday for a week or two, so that will help.

Neal - That's the good part of being a grandparent.  You just say, "I think your baby needs changing" and hand him over!  It's still such a novelty for the new mom and dad that they're happy to do it.

Monika - The little girl is the baby of my adopted son, so it really is quite a miracle that I have this opportunity to know her.

David and Kristin - I'm keeping up with acknowledging in the comments, it's reaching out to comment on people's blogs that's behind!  At some point, I may just have to let those go and keep current with new ones.

Adam - Thank you much!  Being a grandparent is great!

Thanks, Patricia!

Hi Margaret,
Congratulations on the new grand babies.  They are precious!
No apologies needed, you are doing exactly what I think you should be doing, a new Mom needs help (especially after a C-section).  Enjoy the time.

Ginger - I am and, in fact, we all are very lucky.  They are both healthy babies, and both sets of parents have been trying for years to have a baby.

Brian, We look forward to the next few months!  We are, indeed, fortunate to have children who grew up to be such fine adults that we can be very proud of, and so far a,ll five grandchilden are healthy.

Cynthia - Thanks, I've been taking a bye on this one, knowing these readers will understand, and trying to get through some of the other posts.  Now that the other grandmother is arriving in town today, I am back home and hoping to return to some normalcy this week.

Bob - That is soooo true.  Pretty soon he'll be climbing up on to the coffee table and other exciting places!  By the way, I finally got a  chance to meet my namesake this weekend, during a visit to Texas.
